Araceli Cuellar, Ph.D., Senior Field Application Scientist, QIAGEN

Dr. Araceli Cuellar is a Senior Field Application Scientist in the QIAGEN Digital Insights team. She received her PhD from UC Davis where she studied the role of BMP/TGFβ family proteins in cartilage regeneration and pediatric cartilaginous tumor development. Prior to joining QIAGEN, she managed a laboratory at UC Davis, focusing on characterizing the development of rare pediatric craniofacial conditions using clinical assessments and molecular, genomic, and functional approaches.

Devendra Mistry, Ph.D., Associate Director Field Application Science, QIAGEN

Devendra is the manager of North America QIAGEN Digital Insights (QDI) Discovery Field Application Scientists team. Before becoming a manager, he served as a Field Application Scientist himself helping both academic and biopharma customers throughout the US with IPA, CLC, OmicSoft and other QDI products. Devendra received his PhD from University of California San Diego (UCSD) Biomedical Sciences graduate program and did postdoctoral studies under both academic and pharmaceutical settings focusing on stem cells, cancer stem cells, next gen sequencing, gene-editing and more.

Kristin O Malley, Senior Field Application Scientist, QIAGEN

Kristin O’Malley has spent much of her career at the bench in genomics labs in the clinical space, large pharmaceutical companies, and small start-up biotechs. She took this experience and switched gears a few years ago to become a field application scientist. She enjoys the broad spectrum of biology she encounters and empowering scientists to be successful in their own endeavors.

Kyle Nilson, Ph.D., Field Software Trainer, QIAGEN

Kyle Nilson, Ph.D., is a sequencing-focused molecular biologist with a background in biochemistry and technical support. As a field software trainer at QIAGEN Digital Insights, Dr. Nilson works closely with QIAGEN’s global bioinformatics team to provide direct customer support and assist with software training, implementation, and optimization. He earned his Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Iowa, where he studied the regulation of RNA polymerase II transcription and co-transcriptional mRNA processing. Dr. Nilson then completed his postdoctoral training at Penn State and Cornell University, focusing exclusively on next-generation sequencing method development to study chromatin.

Shawn Prince, Staff Field Application Scientist, QIAGEN

Shawn Prince is a genomics and bioinformatics specialist with over 20 years of experience supporting life science researchers in the analysis and interpretation of complex biological data. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with academic, clinical, and translational research teams to help implement scalable genomic analysis workflows and extract meaningful biological insights from next-generation sequencing (NGS) data. In his role, Shawn focuses on enabling scientists to effectively utilize platforms such as CLC Genomics Workbench and Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) to analyze RNA-seq, variant, and multi-omics datasets. He works collaboratively with research institutions to design reproducible bioinformatics pipelines, deploy centralized analysis infrastructure, and streamline the transition from raw sequencing data to biological interpretation.

Tim Hou, Ph.D., Senior Field Application Scientist, QIAGEN

Tim Hou is a Senior Field Application Scientist at QIAGEN Digital Insights, where he leverages extensive expertise in molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics to support researchers using QIAGEN’s biological data analysis and interpretation platforms. Before joining QIAGEN, Tim served as an Assistant Instructor and Postdoctoral Researcher at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where his work focused on enhancer RNA biology, estrogen receptor signaling, and transcriptional regulation in cancer. Tim holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Texas A&M University and has authored more than twenty peer reviewed publications spanning genomics, transcription, cancer biology, immunology, and circadian biology. He is an experienced scientific communicator and cross disciplinary collaborator who is passionate about helping researchers translate complex biological questions into meaningful insights using QIAGEN solutions.
