Molecular gastrointestinal pathogen panels (GPPs) are dramatically improving the diagnosis of infectious gastroenteritis in laboratories. By increasing sensitivity, streamlining workflows and reducing turnaround times, these panels may facilitate more timely and appropriate patient care, while also supporting antimicrobial stewardship in outpatient settings. During this presentation, we’ll explore strategies for optimizing the advantages of molecular GPPs and will compare their workflows to traditional diagnostic methods. Additionally, we’ll examine patient profiling in the context of high- and low-plex GPP options, with a special focus on the capabilities of the new QIAstat-Dx Gastrointestinal Panel 2.
