At QIAGEN, responsibility is not a word we use lightly. It is at the heart of who we are, and it is inseparable from our mission to make improvements in life possible.
We live in a time when global headlines are increasingly shaped by extreme weather events, declining biodiversity, emerging health threats and ongoing human conflict. For me, these are not abstract challenges. They are a call to act and face the future with resilience, responsibility and optimism.
QIAGEN is just one company, but I believe we have an important role in shaping what comes next, and we are pursuing that role of sustainable transformation with focus and purpose.
As a leader in life science research and molecular diagnostics, it is our mission to help improve access to healthcare, particularly for vulnerable populations around the world. We are committed to contributing to the growing global effort needed to protect our environment and support healthier communities for generations to come.
Environmental footprint
Reducing our environmental footprint
Our commitment to the environment begins with our own operations. From the energy we consume to the materials we use in manufacturing, laboratories and facilities, we have made concrete changes: transitioning to greener electricity at key sites, introducing more sustainable alternatives to our standard product lines, optimizing our shipping practices and reducing business travel.
Our ambition is clear: net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain by 2050. We have made real progress in reducing plastic packaging in our products and shipping materials, and we will keep looking for ways to reduce, replace and recycle single-use plastics wherever we can.
Social responsibility
Being socially responsible
Access to advanced molecular technologies should not depend on where you were born or how much you earn. For me, this is not an aspiration. It is a responsibility and it is non-negotiable. Through public health pricing mechanisms, we work to expand access in low- and middle-income countries.
For tuberculosis specifically, QIAGEN offers concessional pricing for QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus through the Global Drug Facility, and directly to public health programs where appropriate. This approach enables ministries of health and public institutions to procure TB diagnostics that reflect their real-world resource realities.
We have also invested in health economic and cost-effectiveness studies in Malaysia, Costa Rica, Thailand and Indonesia to help generate local evidence that guides smarter, more effective TB infection testing decisions.
Working culture
Developing a diverse and first-rate working culture
The same values that guide our work in the world also shape how we support our people. Our long-term sustainability and performance depend on the talent, expertise and dedication of our employees.
As a leading employer in our industry, QIAGEN is recognized for its commitment to diversity, employee well-being and professional development.
Our teams are at their best when they bring together different backgrounds, perspectives and experiences. We support their success through high-quality training, professional development and Reasonable Adjustment frameworks across eight key locations, ensuring that every employee, including those with disabilities, has the opportunity to thrive.
We have made continued progress in cultivating an inclusive leadership team, but recognize that there is more to do. In 2025, QIAGEN LLC was once again named a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion by the Disability Equality Index, and QIAGEN GmbH received this recognition for the first time. Together, these entities represented 42% of our workforce during the reporting year. I am proud of that recognition, and I know it reflects the genuine effort of people across our organization.
I believe these efforts, environmental, social and cultural, have helped shape our global reputation for integrity, passion and innovation. And I know our stakeholders, customers and investors share this commitment.
Throughout our sustainability pages, you will find more detail on the steps we are taking to integrate sustainability across everything we do. I genuinely welcome your feedback, as your perspectives help us to keep improving.
We have made real progress. We have set ambitious goals. And we know this journey continues. Together, we can create a lasting impact.
