FAQ ID -3142

Does RNAprotect affect morphology of tissues?

RNAprotect affects the tissue morphology due to partial dehydration. It causes the structures characteristic of a particular tissue, to shrink or change appearance. This makes the RNAprotect-treated tissues unsuitable for downstream applications that rely on morphology e.g. histopathology, laser microdissection (LMD) or electron microscopy.
