Official Rules

  1. The research grant is only open to life science researchers who are 18 years of age or older and have submitted a completed application.
  2. QIAGEN will provide the Research Grant only to the employer of the winning applicant. The person submitting the application (the “Applicant”) is therefore entering on behalf of their employer, which will be the recipient of the Research Grant (the “Grant Recipient”).  By applying for a Research Grant, the Applicant certifies that he or she has obtained any permissions required from the Grant Recipient to submit such application on the Grant Recipient’s behalf and is not violating any policies of the Grant Recipient in so doing.
  3. This program is void where prohibited by law. Individuals or entities classified as healthcare professionals or healthcare organizations under any applicable laws or industry codes of ethics may not participate in this program.
  4. Winners of Research Grant will be sponsored up to 80% off Life Science research kits and instruments. Diagnostic kits and instruments, and QIAcuity instruments are excluded from the Research Grant. All products in Research Grant are for Research Use Only. Offer void where prohibited and not to be used in combination with other promotions. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that its acceptance of this grant will not violate any internal policies of applicant’s organization.
  5. There are 4 rounds of applications, each per quarter of 2021. Research Grant winners will be announced within one month after each round of application, on April, July, October 2021 and January 2022.
  6. One entry per person. Applications will be scored by a matrix and selected via panel selection, as determined by QIAGEN in its sole discretion.
  7. QIAGEN reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Research Grant program in its sole discretion. By participating in the Research Grant program, entrants agree to release and hold harmless QIAGEN and its affiliates from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Research Grant program, including any errors in the administration of the Research Grant, printing errors, and technical errors, and the Applicant and Grant Recipient agree to release and hold harmless QIAGEN and its affiliates as well from receipt or use of any Research Grant awarded, and further agree to the disclosure of their respective names in connection with QIAGEN’s promotion of the Research Grant program.
  8. QIAGEN reserves the right to exclude participants, at any time and without notice, who technically tamper with the contest, the selection process or otherwise, to oppose these terms and conditions. In case of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an online entry, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the person in whose name the e-mail account is registered. If a certain name is suggested by more than one person, the entry will be deemed to be suggested according to the date of the suggestion being registered, the first person to submit the suggestion will, therefore, be credited with it.
  9. QIAGEN, its officers, directors, affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies, agents and representatives and their respective employees are not responsible and shall not be liable for: (a) electronic, hardware or software program, network, internet or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties of any kind, including without limitation server malfunctions or by any error (human or otherwise) which may occur in the processing of applications; or (b) any condition caused by events beyond the control of QIAGEN that may cause the application and award process to be disrupted or corrupted. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the award program may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, QIAGEN reserves the right to seek damages from such person to the extent permitted by law.
  10. Data processing. Grounds for processing personal data are based on the legitimate interest of the data controller. The purpose of processing personal data is selecting, rewarding and informing the winners of the contest. The data can also be used for designing and developing of QIAGEN´s business, products and services. Personal data processed includes the following data of the participants: first name, last name, email address. The data is collected from the information obtained from the data subject when participating in a competition. There are no other sources of information. The data file can only be accessed by specified persons to the extent of their duties. Personal data may be disclosed and transferred within the QIAGEN group also outside the EU/EEA area for the purpose of processing personal data disclosed in this privacy statement. If personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we will ensure that appropriate contractual measures (e.g., using standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission) are applied to the transfer, the transfer is lawful and that the processing and confidentiality are in compliance with the applicable laws. The data is retained for as long as it is necessary for choosing the winner(s), informing the winner(s) and delivering of the possible prize. The data will be discarded directly afterward. Participants consent to their identity being revealed in announcements via the company internal communications channels.   11.   12. These Official Rules are governed by, and must be construed in accordance with, the laws of Singapore. Entrants agree that all disputes arising from or in connection with this Research Grant must be heard in a state or federal court of Singapore.
