Over the last decade the development of single cell technologies has been crucial in revealing cell functions, unravelling complex biological events and overall advancing our understanding in many areas such as disease research, precision medicine and stem cell research. Single cell analysis provides a more detailed and comprehensive view of cellular heterogeneity, dynamics, and disease processes.
Interrogation of single cells requires isolation of single cells from a complex cell pool and a highly sensitive method for downstream analysis.

The cellenONE® combines ultra gentle acoustic-based picoliter dispensing and high accuracy image-based single cell isolation allowing sorting and isolation of any cell type based on their size, shape and fluorescence markers.

Digital PCR (dPCR) is emerging as the go-to method for applications requiring highly sensitive and precise quantification. The QIAcuity dPCR system allows for absolute quantification without the use of standard curves or reference standards. Additionally, the reaction partitioning into thousands of individual reactions enables to detect very rare events in complex matrices.

The combination of both technologies provides a simple yet efficient workflow that enables reproducible quantification of various targets.

This webinar will cover:

  • Reliable sorting of single cells from complex cell pools using the cellenONE system
  • Sample processing for single cell dPCR analysis using the QIAcuity dPCR system
  • Single cell gene expression analysis
  • Copy number variation analysis on single cells
  • Quantification of mitochondrial DNA and miRNAs present in single cells
About the speaker
Dr. Sandra Ruiz, Field Application Specialist
Cellenion
Dr. Sandra Ruiz holds a Ph.D. from the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology at University Nice Sophia Antipolis, France. Her research interests during her graduate years included single-cell profiling, such as single-cell RNA profiling of the human airway epithelium. Since 2020, she held the role of a Field Application Specialist in Cellenion, a leading provider of single cell isolation technology for sequencing and cell line development.
Dr. Domenica Martorana, R&D Senior Scientist
QIAGEN
Dr. Domenica Martorana is an R&D senior scientist working on gene regulation product development at QIAGEN, Hilden, Germany. She studied Molecular and Cellular Biology at the Georg-August University in Göttingen (Germany), where she received her PhD in 2019. Her PhD research focused on the transcriptional regulation of the unfolded protein response in both fungi and higher eukaryotes. Along the way, she has gathered extensive experience in gene editing and gene regulation in different international projects. Since joining QIAGEN in 2019, Dr Martorana has been involved in developing CRISPR- and functional gene regulation-related products.
