The two different exon 2 forward sequencing primers of the SBTexcellerator HLA-DRB1 Kit provide group-specific sequences. In many allele combinations, this will show homozygous sequences and therefore give higher sequence quality and fewer genotype ambiguities. Resolution problems in heterozygous sequences (due to hypervariable regions) are minimized for many allele combinations.
