About this webinar

Dr. Lucia Mazzotti, Istituto Romagnolo per lo Studio dei Tumori "Dino Amadori"
Dr. Lucia Mazzotti is a researcher in the Advanced Cellular Therapies and Rare Tumors Unit at IRCCS Istituto Romagnolo per lo Studio dei Tumori (IRST) and a PhD candidate at the University of Bologna. She aims to drive the development of personalized immunotherapies to improve outcomes for oncological patients. Lucia’s research focuses on T-cell receptor sequencing, repertoire dynamics and immune-HLA interactions. In 2024, she expanded her expertise in immunogenomics and translational oncology at the University of Antwerp as a visiting scientist. She holds an MSc in Health Biology and a BSc in Biological Sciences.

Dr. Massimiliano Mazza, IRST SRL
Dr. Massimiliano Mazza leads the CAR-T Platform at IRCCS Istituto Romagnolo per lo Studio dei Tumori (IRST), where his team develops and validates innovative immunotherapies for solid and hematological cancers. His work spans tumor immunology, cell engineering and antibody therapeutics, with a focus on GMP-compatible development and clinical applicability. Massimiliano has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and is named the inventor on five international patents covering antibody therapeutics, diagnostic assays and air purification technologies. He also sits on the advisory board of SOHO Italy and serves as topic editor for Frontiers in Immunology, IJMS, Neuroendocrinology and Frontiers in Oncology. Massimiliano earned his PhD at EMBL Heidelberg and is an active contributor to national and EU-funded immuno-oncology programs.

Dr. Patricia Borges de Souza, Istituto Romagnolo per lo Studio dei Tumori "Dino Amadori"
Dr. Patricia Souza is a researcher in molecular biology and biomedical sciences with expertise in endocrine-related cancers, particularly neuroendocrine tumors. Her work spans tumor malignancy, treatment resistance, TCR sequencing, biomarker discovery and receptor signaling, with recent emphasis on bioinformatics, computational modeling and AI-driven patient stratification and treatment optimization. Patricia’s doctoral research at the University Hospital of Ferrara, Italy, focused on translational endocrinology and cancer biology. She earned her PhD in Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology in 2023 and holds two MSc degrees in Biomolecular and Evolutionary Sciences and Biotechnology.
