Ed O’Carroll, Major (ret.), Fairfax County (Virginia) Police Department
Major (ret.) Ed O’Carroll entered public service as an Emergency Medical Technician and has continued with a long and distinguished law enforcement career. His most recent assignment before retirement from the Fairfax County (Virginia) Police Department was Bureau Chief of Major Crimes, Cyber and Forensics. This is the detective team responsible for all major criminal investigations in Fairfax County. Ed is a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy at Quantico. Currently, Ed also serves as a national executive trainer for the Refuse to Be A Victim program. Ed also served two non-consecutive terms as the President of the Virginia Crime Prevention Association, networking law enforcement and citizens in the prevention of crime. He has conducted numerous training classes for law enforcement officers and citizens on a variety of topics including cold case efforts, law enforcement use of DNA and the importance of supporting all victims of crime.
