Andreas Hecker has 8+ years of experience in managing product portfolios in various application areas, including the QIAcuity, QIAGEN’s digital PCR platform. Previous roles included technical product service and product training at different providers of Life Science tools.

David Bauer, Market Development Manager dPCR, QIAGEN
Dave Bauer has a multidisciplinary scientific background, including undergraduate degrees in biology and physics, along with a PhD in biophysics. He has years of experience in both real-time PCR and digital PCR, including working on analytical method development for cell therapeutics, supporting and training customers as a field applications specialist, and roles focused on digital PCR products and applications. Dave is drawn to digital PCR technology for its unique analytical capabilities, which bring benefits to many areas of biological research.

James Qin, Field Application Expert, QIAGEN
James Qin holds graduate degrees in Molecular & Cell Biology and Computer Science. As a senior scientist at QIAGEN with 20 years of experience, he is recognized as an in-house expert in digital PCR and its applications. James has played key roles in R&D and the Field Application Specialist team, contributing significantly to the development of siRNA assays and microRNA detection products. James has led numerous successful customer assay developments for real-time and digital PCR applications in cancer, rare disease marker assay development, delivering comprehensive “sample to result” workflow solutions. James is the lead scientist in many customer collaborations, the inventor of real-time assay technologies and holds a U.S. patent. Prior to joining QIAGEN, James served as lead scientist and project manager at biotech companies, specializing in library construction and novel target discovery, gene expression and cell transfection, biomarker content development, microarray assay development, as well as sequencing analysis and data mining.

Jan Rohde, Senior Technical Sales Manager dPCR, QIAGEN
Jan Rohde received his MSc in Pharmaceutical and Medical Drug Innovation from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands and his PhD from Medical University Frankfurt, Germany, where he worked on developing microRNA therapeutics. He went on to hold several scientific roles in multinational companies, such as Thermo Fisher Scientific and Takara Bio Europe. Jan joined QIAGEN in 2020 as a sales application specialist for digital PCR. He is currently working in the strategic lab consultancy team, coordinating digital PCR projects across Europe and Africa, as well as providing expert technical advice and assay design for customers in this region.

Dr. Jonathan Weiss, PhD, Associate Principal Scientist, QIAGEN
Dr. Jonathan Weiss holds a Diploma in Molecular Biology and a PhD in Molecular Medicine from the University of Cologne, where he worked on deciphering oncogenic dependencies in Non-Small Cell Lung (NSCL) tumors. He then held a postdoc position in Melbourne, Australia, where he started working with digital PCR. He returned to the University Hospital Cologne in 2015 as an independent translational research group leader, where he developed and established digital PCR assays to answer complex clinical questions. He joined QIAGEN in 2023 as an R&D Scientist and is currently part of the Toolbox and Feasibility Group, focusing on new approaches and research to push the limits of digital PCR.
