Product Details

Each antibody is a mixture of anti-phosphoserine or anti-phosphothreonine antibodies. They are used to detect proteins with phosphorylated serine or threonine residues after western blotting.

Principle

PhosphoSerine and PhosphoThreonine Antibodies recognize and bind to phosphorylated serine and threonine residues, irrespective of surrounding amino acids. The use of chemiluminescent detection in conjunction with PhosphoSerine and PhosphoThreonine Antibodies is strongly recommended.

Procedure

The PhosphoProtein Handbook contains detailed protocols for detecting phosphorylated proteins using the PhosphoSerine Antibody Q5 and PhosphoThreonine Antibody Q7.

No, we do not currently provide controls for this kit. BSA can be used as a negative control, since it is not phosphorylated. Use only high-purity grade BSA without any residual phopholipids.

We recommend casein or ovalbumin as a positive control. These proteins can be detected using our PhosphoSerine and PhosphoThreonine Antibody.
