Her work leverages advanced technologies such as digital PCR and next-generation sequencing to drive innovation in cancer diagnostics and treatment.

Dr. Gupta holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Chicago and a PhD in Cancer Biology from MIT. During his academic career, he was a member of the prestigious Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research and served as an Associate Professor of Biology at MIT. Dr. Gupta is also a successful entrepreneur. He co-founded Verastem Oncology, a company inspired by his research at MIT, and served on its corporate board through several venture capital rounds and an initial public offering. His impactful research has been published in top scientific journals and recognized internationally. It has also been featured by prominent outlets such as MIT Technology Review, Bloomberg News and as a lead story in The New York Times.

Dr. Cuschieri is a consultant clinical scientist in virology and the Director of the Scottish HPV Reference Laboratory, NHS Lothian. She also leads the HPV Research Group at the Centre for Reproductive Health, University of Edinburgh. A founding member of the Scottish HPV Investigators Network, Kate holds an honorary position at the University of Glasgow. Her expertise focuses on the evaluation and development of HPV tests for screening and disease management, particularly for HPV-related diseases like cervical cancer. Kate contributes to several groups overseeing cervical screening in the UK and internationally. Since 2008, her team has supported immunization surveillance through extensive testing services.
