Successful reverse transcription of RNA performed using the QuantiTech® Reverse Transcription Kit. Universal 16S rRNA gene (StreF/StreR) primers were used. This generated a 1,243 bp product. PCR was run using the KAPATM Fast HotStart Kit.

High-quality and yield RNA was recovered from samples regardless of biofilm origin. Several types of biofilms were collected and RNA isolated from those samples. Resulting RNA quality was assessed through gel electrophoresis; RNA yield was determined using NanoDrop.
