bactotype Mg/Ms PCR ReagentFor simultaneous identification of Mycoplasma gallisepticum (Mg) and Mycoplasma synoviae (Ms) DNA.
The bactotype Mg/Ms PCR Reagent enables the safe and simultaneous identification of DNA from Mycoplasma gallisepticum and M. synoviae. The reagent contains primer-probe sets for specific amplification of a highly conserved regions of the Mycoplasma gallisepticum and M. synoviae genomes. The reagent also contains an internal control to identify possible PCR inhibition, and an external positive control.

Principle
This is a real-time PCR reagent for the identification of DNA from Mycoplasma gallisepticum and M. synoviae. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is based on the amplification of specific regions of the pathogen genome. In real-time PCR, the amplified product is identified using fluorescent dyes. These are usually linked to oligonucleotide probes that bind specifically to the amplified product. Monitoring the fluorescence intensities during the PCR run (i.e., in real time) allows the identification of the accumulating product without the need to re-open the reaction tubes afterwards.
Procedure
Prior to real-time PCR, DNA must be extracted from the starting material. QIAGEN offers a range of products for DNA extraction from animal samples.
Applications
The bactotype Mg/Ms PCR Reagent is designed to identify Mycoplasma gallisepticum and M. synoviae DNA in biological samples using polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
