The Special RNA Isolation Service offers RNA isolation services from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded samples, laser capture microdissection samples, fine-needle aspiration biopsies, and other special samples. RNA samples can then be analyzed using additional expression analysis services, including PCR arrays, quantitative RT-PCR assays, miRNA PCR arrays and assays, and RT2 PreAMP cDNA Synthesis Kit-enabled PCR array and assay services. Samples can also be shipped to the customer or customer’s choice of destination.

Principle

The Special RNA Isolation Service offers RNA isolation services from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples, laser capture microdissection (LCM) samples, fine-needle aspiration biopsies (FNAB), and other small samples. RNA samples can then be analyzed using additional services, including PCR arrays, quantitative RT-PCR assays, miRNA PCR array and assays, and RT2 PreAMP cDNA Synthesis Kit-enabled PCR array and assay services.

Procedure

RNA is extracted from samples using an appropriate RNeasy protocol (FFPE sample RNA is isolated using the RNeasy FFPE Kit; LCM samples, FNAB samples, and other small samples RNA is isolated using the RNeasy Micro Kit).

RNA is quantified and purity is estimated using a spectrophotometer (optional). Information regarding the RNA concentration and quality (obtained using an Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer or QIAxcel) can be provided upon request. Samples can be shipped to the customer or used in an additional service application.
