Are the assays species-specific?
Most of the Microbial DNA qPCR Assays that detect bacterial species are species-specific. Assays that do detect more than one species will list which species are detected in the product specification sheet. These were determined by both experimental data and in silico prediction.

Microbial DNA-Free Water
Microbial DNA-Free Water is molecular biology grade, nuclease-free water that has been filter-sterilized and UV-treated to eliminate genomic DNA contamination. Quality of the water is tested by PCR using a panel of Microbial DNA qPCR Assays that are sensitive to bacterial and fungal DNA. If none of the PCR assays give a positive signal using Microbial DNA-Free Water as the template in the PCR reaction, then the lot passes. This rigorous process ensures the cleanest possible results for Microbial DNA qPCR Assay or Array experiments.
