High-Resolution Melting (HRM) analysis is a technique that characterizes double-stranded PCR products based on their dissociation (melting) behavior as they transition from double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) to single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) with increasing temperature. Previously unknown and even complex sequence variations can be readily detected and characterized in an easy and straightforward way. HRM technology allows rapid and cost-effective characterization of DNA samples in emerging and challenging applications such as reliable SNP genotyping, mutation scanning, species identification and DNA methylation analysis.
