EZ1 DSP DNA Blood Kit

The EZ1 DSP DNA Blood Kit contains all required reagents and labware for automated purification of DNA from 200 or 350 µl human whole blood using magnetic particle technology. Reagents are supplied in prefilled reagent cartridges, which ensures speed and convenience in loading the EZ1 Advanced or the EZ1 Advanced XL. The CE-IVD-marked system provides exact performance specifications, assuring highly reliable DNA purification.

Efficient purification of genomic DNA

Automated DNA purification provides high levels of reliability and standardization and helps to eliminate variation caused by handling errors. The EZ1 Advanced or the EZ1 Advanced XL in combination with the EZ1 DSP DNA Blood Kit enables efficient purification of genomic DNA from human whole blood. The amount of DNA purified depends on the white blood cell content (WBC) of each blood sample. The EZ1 DSP DNA Blood system provides high relative DNA yields independent of the donor’s WBC.

DNA purified using the EZ1 DSP DNA Blood system is ready for immediate use in a broad range of sensitive diagnostic assays, such as real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using CE-IVD-marked artus PCR Kits.

Unparalleled removal of inhibitors

Since PCR consists of multiple rounds of enzymatic reactions, it is more sensitive to impurities than single-step enzyme-catalyzed reactions. DNA purified using the EZ1 DSP DNA Blood system performs well in PCR even when large amounts of eluate are used, demonstrating the high purity of the DNA (see figure “ Eluate volume and PCR performance”).

Automated sample preparation enables efficient, standardized purification of nucleic acids. The EZ1 Advanced and the EZ1 Advanced XL enable purification of nucleic acids using proven magnetic-particle technology for use in routine in vitro diagnostic applications. Reagent production is subjected to stringent quality control assuring reliable and robust performance. The EZ1 Advanced or the EZ1 Advanced XL in combination with the proven EZ1 DSP DNA Blood Kit enables purification of DNA from 1–6 samples (EZ1 Advanced) or 1-14 samples (EZ1 Advanced XL) of human whole blood. All processing steps are performed by the instrument, from piercing the reagent cartridge to elution of highly pure nucleic acids. The innovative design of the instrument means that the pipet tips function as separation chambers, increasing the efficiency of magnetic purification and eliminating the need for centrifugation steps. The streamlined procedure provides robust walkaway purification of nucleic acids with minimal hands-on time.

Genomic DNA purified using the EZ1 DSP DNA Blood Kit is ready to use in downstream diagnostic assays based on enzymatic amplification, such as human leukocyte antigen (HLA) and genetic testing.
