Dr. Haley Omeasoo is the Founder and Executive Director of Ohkomi Forensics and an advocate for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP). She is an enrolled member of the Hopi Tribe and a descendant of the Amskapi Pikuni (Blackfeet) Tribe. Dr. Omeasoo holds a Ph.D. in Forensic and Molecular Anthropology from the University of Montana.
Her work focuses on supporting Tribal agencies through NAGPRA-compliant repatriations and culturally informed forensic investigations of unidentified skeletal remains. Founded in 2023, Ohkomi Forensics provides technical expertise to help resolve cold cases in Indian Country and support the return of Indigenous relatives. Dr. Omeasoo also serves on the State of Montana’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples Advisory Council (MMIPAC).
