The molecular biology revolution has played an exciting role in the field of forensics. In the past three decades, DNA typing has become the worldwide standard for analyzing microscopic amounts of human tissue and remains. Because of new technologies in DNA analysis, an untold number of criminal casesleft unsolved for lack of evidence  have now been brought to a satisfying close. Even more gratifying is the release from prison of wrongly incarcerated individuals, thanks to the advancements in DNA typing and identification. Our DNA technologies have made a major contribution in solving complex forensic cases throughout the world. A typical strategy is for us to work closely with crime labs and scientists to create tailor-made solutions for special applications. Some recent cases have included:
