Principle

The discovery that mouse fibroblasts can be reprogrammed and generate induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) with qualities remarkably similar to embryonic stem cells has created a valuable new source of pluripotent cells for potential drug discovery, cell therapy, and basic research.

Creation of iPSCs from somatic cells is accomplished by overexpression of certain proteins, which results in cellular reprogramming. Expression vectors are available in individual plasmid format for 6 important iPSC factors and in collection format:

qBiomarker iPSC Expression Plasmids are is a ready-to-transfect plasmids that encode either a human or mouse DYKDDDDK-fused protein. The open reading frame that codes for the fusion protein is under the control of the constitutively active CMV promoter. The DYKDDDDK epitope tag is also known as the FLAG tag.
