The virotype Influenza A RT-PCR Rgt permits the identification of RNA from influenza A virus using RT-PCR. The reagent contains primer-probe sets for specific amplification of a highly conserved region of the influenza A genome. The reagent also contains an internal control to identify possible PCR inhibition, and an external positive control.

The virotype Influenza A RT-PCR Rgt is intended for molecular biology applications. This product is neither intended for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of a disease, nor has it been validated for such use either alone or in combination with other products.
This is a real-time RT-PCR reagent for the identification of RNA from influenza A virus. PCR is based on the amplification of specific regions of the pathogen genome. It is a sensitive and specific tool for pathogen identification.
Real-time RT-PCR involves the reverse transcription of viral RNA and subsequent amplification of the cDNA by PCR. The amplified product is detected using fluorescent dyes. These are usually linked to oligonucleotide probes that bind specifically to the amplified product. Monitoring the fluorescence intensities during the PCR run (i.e., in real time) allows the identification of the accumulating product without the need to re-open the reaction tubes afterwards.
