Microbial DNA-Free Water is molecular biology grade, nuclease-free water that has been filter-sterilized and UV-treated to eliminate genomic DNA contamination. Quality of the water is tested by PCR using a panel of Microbial DNA qPCR Assays that are sensitive to bacterial and fungal DNA. If none of the PCR assays give a positive signal using Microbial DNA-Free Water as the template in the PCR reaction, then the lot passes. This rigorous process ensures the cleanest possible results for Microbial DNA qPCR Assay or Array experiments.

Performance
Quality control is performed on each lot of Microbial DNA-Free Water to verify the absence of microbial DNA. The result of the quality control test is included on the product sheet that accompanies the product.
Principle
A stringent purification and testing process ensures that Microbial DNA-Free Water is clean and entirely free of genomic DNA contamination. The water is sterilized using a 0.22 μl filter, and UV treatment eliminates genomic DNA. Once the purification process is complete, each lot of water is quality control tested for fungal or bacterial DNA contamination using Microbial DNA qPCR Assays, and must give a negative signal for each assay in order to receive a passing score.
Applications
Microbial DNA-Free Water is highly suited for use with Microbial DNA qPCR Arrays and Assays as a diluent for concentrated Microbial DNA Positive Control and Microbial qPCR Mastermix, and as a no-template control.
