miRNA quantification presents many challenges, due to the small size of miRNAs, their 3' heterogeneity, and the low amounts of miRNA present in samples. The new, next-generation miScript PCR System is a robust and accurate qRT-PCR- based system for transcriptomewide miRNA profiling in mammalian cells. A key feature of the miScript PCR System is its use of a universal reverse transcription reaction, facilitating quantification of all miRNAs as well as their target mRNAs using the same cDNA preparation.
