What is the standard assay volume recommended for LiquiChip assays?

The LiquiChip assay volume is dependent on the type of microplate used. The table below gives guidelines for sample volumes.

In round-bottom and half-area-bottom plates, an assay volume of 60 µl is required. In flat- and conical-bottom plates, a minmum volume of 100 µl is required. This volume includes the 25 µl "dead volume" needed for aspiration by the LiquiChip Reader.

LiquiChip assay volumes and aspirated volumes

Type of microplate Minimum assay volume (µl) Maximum aspirated volume (µl) Aspirated volume (µl)
Round-bottom 60 Total assay volume - 20 25-40
Half-area-bottom 60 Total assay volume - 20 25-40
Flat-bottom 100 Total assay volume - 25 25-75
Conical-bottom 100 Total assay volume - 25 25-75
