The QIAxpert system is a new high-speed spectrophotometer that uses traditional UV/VIS spectrometry to provide accelerated micro-volume DNA, RNA, and protein quantification and quality control. Proprietary spectral protocols enable content profiling by extracting the contribution of individual sample components and differentiating between DNA, RNA, and protein fractions and sample impurities. This ability to discriminate molecules of interest from the spectral curve makes the new QIAxpert system an ideal tool for any life science lab demanding maximal accuracy for sample quantification.

QIAxpert uses disposable microfluidic slides for analyzing up to 16 samples per run. The QIAxpert slides are constructed from advanced plastics that allow high optical transmission over the full UV/VIS spectrum with high accuracy. On-board capillary channels preserve the samples after pipetting and prevent evaporation, so samples can be loaded and left at room temperature for up to 2 hours prior to readout.

Flexible throughput options
The QIAxpert system allows processing of up to 16 samples per run using disposable microfluidic slides. A single sample measurement can be carried out, and any unused positions on the slide can be used for later measurements, until all input reservoirs have been used.

Fast analysis in as little as 90 seconds
QIAxpert streamlines your laboratory workflow by minimizing hands-on and analysis times — 16 samples can be analyzed in less than 90 seconds with no time-consuming sample loading and cleaning steps. All you have to do is pipet your samples onto the QIAxpert slide, place it into the reader, and select the preprogrammed method on the integrated touchscreen. Your results appear quickly!

Minimal sample consumption
QIAxpert lets you conserve your precious samples for further downstream analysis. The QIAxpert slide takes an input volume of only 2 µl per analysis, and capillary channels protect the samples from evaporation for up to 2 hours prior to sample readout. This means you can relax — there is no need to rush between loading the slide and placing it into the QIAxpert reader.

Spectral content profiling
Unique spectral protocols enable accurate, dye-free quantification of complex samples containing multiple UV/VIS absorbing chemicals interfering with the A260 or A280 absorbance method. Specific spectral profiling applications have been designed to address challenging research samples such as difficult-to-isolate nucleic acids and amplified nucleic acids. These applications use state-of-the-art software algorithms to extract the contribution of specific components such as DNA, RNA, and impurities in a mixture from the measured UV/VIS spectrum.

Intuitive touchscreen operation
QIAxpert software is integrated in an on-board computer and is easily operated via an intuitive full-color touchscreen. Each icon has a dedicated meaning and guides you through the various processes such as setting up a measurement, exporting data, and (re)viewing experiment results, eliminating the need for extensive user training.

Comprehensive export and report options
The "Export" tab in the QIAxpert results screen lets you easily retrieve your data and export it either to a USB drive, network folder, or to your smartphone by scanning a QR code. Data may be exported in 2 different file formats for maximum user flexibility — an HTML report can be opened with any web browser, or a CSV file can be opened in Microsoft Excel.  The reports contain all results in a table format along with classical spectral absorbance data (A260, A260/A280, and A260/A230), and the HTML report also includes individual spectral profiles for each analyzed sample.
