Can QIAzol aqueous phase be used with the gDNA eliminator columns in RNeasy Plus mini kit?

RNeasy plus will NOT work with aqueous supernatants of acidic phenol-Guanidine based lysis reagents e.g. QIAzol. The reason is that the aqueous phase supernatants from QIAzol do not provide the correct conditions for removal of genomic DNA with gDNA eliminator columns. However, ‘ gDNA Eliminator solution’ contained in RNeasy Plus Universal Kit can be used with QIAzol aqueous phase for gDNA removal .
